1761 Danby, Vermont 1911
You are hereby cordially invited to be present at our Old Home Week Celebration commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the granting of the Charter for the Town to be held in dandy during the week of August 21-27, 1911.
Sincerely yours for the Committee.

1761 Danby, Vermont 1911

On August 27, 1761, Gov. Benning Wentworth of New Hampshire granted the charter for the town of Danby.

In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of that event, the town is to hold a celebration in the week of August 21-27th, 1911.

The celebration is to take the form of an Old Home Week, which will be given over largely to family reunions and home gatherings.

Wednesday, August 23, will be “Governors’ Day,” when Gov. Mead, Dr. John M. Thomas, President of Middlebury College, and other notable speakers will be present and at an open air picnic will address us, following which will be held games and sports, with grand fireworks display and bonfire in the evening.

During the week an ornamental drinking fountain designed for man and beast will be unveiled and dedicated, and the celebration will close on Sunday, August 27, with special services in the churches.

It is hoped that all the people who have ever lived here, or who are interested in the welfare of the town or its people, will be able to “Come Home to Danby” during this week.
