THE TROY RECORD.
August 26, 1911

The dedication of the handsome fountain presented to Danby, Vt., by the Village Improvement society, and to which Mrs. K. T. Griffith contributed $250, which was scheduled for last evening, was postponed until today, owing to the inclement weather. The corn roast, which was to take place last night, was also postponed until this evening.

The fountain is an elegant piece of work, with facilities for horses and dogs, as well as the drinking fountain for the human inhabitants of the town. According to the laws of Vermont, the sanitary cup is provided for and everything was in place for the unveiling, but rain necessitated a postponement. The speakers at the dedication will be Father Lynch of Pittsford and Congressman Foster.

The plans for the sesquicentennial call for Sunday historical services in the three churches of the town to-morrow. the pastors having agreed to speak of Danby and its history. Doubtless there will be large audiences in all the houses of worship. The villagers of Danby are loud in their praise of Rev. W. A. McIntire, L. H. Cook, Myron Greene and the others who have made this Old Home Week and celebration such a success.
