​​BANK DIRECTORS ADOPT RESOLUTION

The board of directors of the Rutland County National bank has adopted the following resolution on the death of Eugene McIntyre of Danby, vice president and a director of the institution:

“It is not an easy matter to part from a friend with whom one has been intimately associated for many years, in close business relations, and the directors of the Rutland County National bank feel very deeply the bereavement and loss they suffer in the death of the Hon. Eugene McIntyre of Danby, Vt., whose death occurred on the evening of July 17, 1931.

“He had been a member of the board since January 14, 1890 and its vice president since January 11, 1916.

“Mr. McIntyre was a man of sterling qualities, of great probity of character, keenness of perception, careful and prudent, action and extremely faithful to duty; he was public spirited and patriotic as a citizen, and served his town, his county and state in legislative halls with distinction; he followed the flag during its peril in the Civil war with loyalty and ardor and a mark of his devotion to his country and the memory of his comrades, in the shape of a soldiers’ monument which he gave to the town, stands at the head of the street of his residence in Danby. Crowning all he was a Christian gentleman, good neighbor and friend.

“Eugene McIntyre will be widely missed, and we deplore the loss of a safe, wise counselor and genial associate, and sympathize deeply in the bereavement that touches his family and intimate friends.”
