3/25/2024

At a meeting of the Congregational Church and Society held last evening, it was decided to make some needed repairs and paint and redecorate the church. Mr. Eugene McIntyre offered to loan the society the money needed for the purpose till the legacy of the late S. L. Griffith provided for such purposes could be realized on, the rate of interest to be five per cent.
Mrs. Katie T. Griffith, however, very generously offered to provide the money without interest, for which she was given a rising vote of thanks. A new carpet will be included in the church improvements. The trustees, deacons and clerk were named as a committee to have charge of the work to be done, which will be commenced as soon as may be. It is intended to secure Music Hall for the purpose of holding morning service and Sunday School while the repairs are being made. The evening service will be omitted during the time.
