J.Harry Engels of this city has been engaged to take charge of the music at the funeral of Silas L. Griffith, which will be held, probably at the church at Danby, next Tuesday. Mr. Griffith, just before he died requested that certain pieces be sung at his funeral. This request will be carried out exactly. Dr. Miller of Dummerston will sing a baritone solo, “Fear Not,” by Asa Smith, and Miss Minnie E. Bushee, who for a long time was Mr.Griffith’s stenographer, will sing Adam’s “Holy City.” At the conclusion of the services Edward S. Kaipe of this city will play “taps” on a cornet.
