    Fingerling Trout to Be Placed In State Waters.

    S. L. Griffith of Danby has notified State Fish Commissioner Titcomb that he will plant in public waters a considerable number of fingerling trout from a supply he is raising at his private hatchery. The trout will be a gift to the public.

    Danby, Aug 3.—Danby is a small town as Vermont towns go, but it is making a showing that well might be emulated by towns much larger, as the records of the state show that this town holds the county record in the number of books, per capita, to be issued from the Griffith Memorial library.

    DANBY AND MOUNT TABOR

    Danby, Vt., which is located at the extreme southern part of Rutland county and on the Bennington and Rutland Railroad, is not by any, means the least among her sister towns in the county. The town was granted a charter in 1761, and therefore takes its place among the earliest town organizations in this part of the State.
